ABOUT
AMS Industrial is a heavy mechanical general contractor specializing in large infrastructure work across the United States, with a focus on dam and waterway rehabilitation. We self-perform complex mechanical scopes—including large and small waterway gates, valves, strainers, air and water piping systems — that are vital to the reliability and safety of the nation’s infrastructure.
Headquartered in Lafayette, Colorado, AMS operates nationwide, primarily under federal contracts. Originally founded in 1967 as American Mine Services, the company transitioned away from mining and into industrial infrastructure in the early 2020s. In 2025, we formally adopted the name AMS Industrial to reflect that evolution. Our team brings decades of specialized field experience to federal, hydroelectric, and industrial projects, partnering with various federal agencies to execute technically demanding work in high-risk environments.
One thing that hasn’t changed since our founding is our unwavering commitment to safety. We carry forward the rigorous safety culture shaped by our mining roots, making #SafetyFirst not only our top company value but also how we operate each day. We begin every meeting and each job site workday with a safety discussion. Our focus on safety permeates all that we do.
With a skilled team of traveling superintendents and millwrights, AMS Industrial excels in projects where precision, reliability, and accountability are critical. We mobilize quickly, manage risk conservatively, and maintain strong working relationships with project Owners and subcontractors alike. Our clients include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation, Department of Energy, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, and state and local municipalities. From installing bulkhead guides and modernizing mechanical systems to restoring structural components below the waterline, AMS delivers the results that keep critical infrastructure operating safely and reliably.
